Wow! So quick? A co-worker is a wedding dj/keyboards/bassist/80's fanatic. I dig the 80's...if anything it'd help me learn my own voice and style. Kind of like learning how to spell and punctuate before I write a book - something I did before. He told me in the future he'd like to give me an audition. I asked him to give me a song to practice and he gave me The Cure: Just Like Heaven.

Cool. Here we go. Practice, Practice and more practice

I've copy and pasted the lyrics below

The Cure: Just Like Heaven
"show me how you do that trick
The one that makes me scream" she said
"the one that makes me laugh" she said
And threw her arms around my neck"show me how you do it
And i promise you i promise that
I'll run away with you
I'll run away with you"
Spinning on that dizzy edge
I kissed her face and kissed her head
And dreamed of all the different ways i had
To make her glow"why are you so far away?" she said
"why won't you ever know that i'm in love with you
That i'm in love with you"
Soft and only
Lost and lonely
YouStrange as angels
Dancing in the deepest oceans
Twisting in the water
You're just like a dream
Daylight licked me into shape
I must have been asleep for days
And moving lips to breathe her name
I opened up my eyes
And found myself alone alone
Alone above a raging sea
That stole the only girl i loved
And drowned her deep inside of me
YouSoft and only
Lost and lonely
Just like heaven

A turning point in my life when I discovered The Cure... and yet I never knew the entire lyrics to this song. Right on!

Me too. It was such a cool era of music. Back then MTV was brand new and was actually about music and art.

This song is definately hard to sing. He gets up there.
